Evil Snacks Crunchy Mushroom Chips are a surprisingly addictive savory snack with an ultra-crispy texture and bold seasoning that makes them hard to stop eating.

Taste

These mushroom chips deliver big savory flavor in an unexpectedly light, crispy package. The Sour Cream flavor has that classic tangy, creamy snack-chip vibe without tasting artificial, while the Sriracha Lime brings heat, acidity, and umami together in a way that feels especially snackable.

Price

We paid about $5.79 per bag, which feels a little expensive for a snack food at first glance. That said, mushrooms are a pricier ingredient than potatoes or corn, and the quality feels noticeably higher than your average chip.

Texture

The texture is the real standout here. These chips are incredibly crispy, airy, and crunchy without being oily or heavy. They almost melt as you chew them while still delivering that satisfying crunch you want from a snack chip.

EVโ€™s Take: A Surprisingly Addictive Vegan Snack

We genuinely loved these mushroom chips. We tried both the Sour Cream flavor and the Sriracha Lime flavor, and while both were excellent, the Sriracha Lime edged ahead with a slightly more punchy, balanced flavor and had us reaching back into the bag for more and more.

Vegan mushroom chips

What impressed us most was how well the mushrooms worked as a chip substitute. Instead of trying to imitate potato chips exactly, they lean into their own texture and umami-forward flavor profile. The result is a very crisp mushroom coated in a light, crunchy breading without being overly “mushroomy” or earthy, yet still tastes nutritious.

These would be excellent for movie nights, road trips, snack boards, or casual parties where you want to offer vegan guests something a little more interesting than plain pretzels or tortilla chips.

My only gripe is that the Sriracha Lime flavor did not come with a zipper to reseal the bag. The Sour Cream flavor did, so I’m assuming it was just something that was missed in QC

Evil Snacks Crunchy Mushroom Chips Ingredients

Ingredients vary slightly by flavor, but the base product centers around whole oyster mushrooms and savory seasonings designed to maximize crunch and umami flavor.

Those with dietary restrictions should still check the packaging carefully for allergen information and ingredient specifics, depending on the flavor variety.

Evil Snacks Crunchy Mushroom Chips Nutrition

Nutritional information varies by flavor, but overall, these feel more substantial and satisfying than standard chips thanks to the mushroom base. Theyโ€™re savory, crunchy, and filling enough that a small serving goes a long way. In the Original Flavor, for example, a 2-ounce bag contains about 300 calories and 18 grams of fat.

The saturated fat is probably the most concerning. A 2-ounce serving of Evil Snacks Mushroom Chips contains 10 grams of saturated fat compared to the 3 grams of saturated fat in a 2-ounce serving of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips. For an occasional salty, crunchy treat? I wouldn’t think twice about this, but I would probably be a little more mindful before housing an entire bag in one sitting on a random Tuesday.

How to Eat Evil Snacks Crunchy Mushroom Chips

Straight from the bag is the way to go, but you could definitely get creative with these as a crunchy, salty addition to other meals.

Theyโ€™d also work well:

  • Crumbled over soups or salads for crunch
  • Added to snack boards
  • Paired with dips
  • Served alongside sandwiches instead of chips
  • Put ON a sandwich with your favorite vegan deli meat

I bet you could even pulse through a food processor and use it as a breading for crispy tofu.

How Did EV Eat Them?

We mostly just snacked on them directly out of the bag, and we quickly realized how easy they are to demolish in one sitting. The Sriracha Lime disappeared first, but both flavors earned unanimous approval.

Where Can I Buy Evil Snacks Crunchy Mushroom Chips?

We found them locally for around $5.79 per bag at Wegmans through the Instacart app, though availability may vary depending on your area. You can also purchase them on Amazon, though some of the flavors are out of stock.
