EV’s Take: A Fiery Vegan Game Day Treat
Given how much we loved Jack & Annie’s Crispy Jack Nuggets, our glowing review of their Buffalo Jack Wings shouldn’t be surprising. They’re crispy, meaty, spicy, easy to make, and taste delicious for a quick snack or a game day go-to.
Our only complaint might be that they were a little shy about the Buffalo flavor. They could have had a little extra Frank’s Hot Sauce flavor or a little more kick in general. Would I still eat these? Happily! But I knocked it down half a point because if the package says Buffalo, I want big Buffalo flavor!
Like the Jack Nuggets, Jack & Annie’s protein source comes from jackfruit, a tropical tree fruit grown in Asia, Africa, and South America. Young jackfruit is prized for its meaty texture and neutral flavor, making it an amazing plant-based substitute for all sorts of meat products, like shredded pork or chicken tenders.
Jack & Annie’s Buffalo Jack Wings Ingredients
The ingredient list is very straightforward, with jackfruit as the primary ingredient. These Jack Wings also contain wheat and soy, so be mindful of that if you have allergies. Beyond that, they just contain spices and methylcellulose, a plant fiber used as a binder.

Compared to other plant-based chicken nuggets, like Gardein or Impossible, Jack & Annie’s Buffalo Jack Wings protein is a little lighter. Each wing delivers about 1.6 grams of protein. Gardein’s Plant-Based Chik’n Nuggets have about 2.3 grams of protein per nugget, and Impossible Chicken Nuggets pack 2.6 grams. While the difference isn’t staggering, it is worth considering if you aim to increase your protein intake.
Everything else is pretty standard, and the sodium content is reasonable, considering it’s a Buffalo-flavored chicken nugget.

How did EV eat Buffalo Jack Wings?
I’m a chicken nugget purist, so I ate them with ketchup. I also used the oven technique that I lightly greased with avocado oil. Next time, I might pick up a jar of Daiya’s Vegan Blue Dressing and try them with that!
